Moorhouse Properties Limited (“MPL”, “Moorhouse Group”, “the Company” or “the Holding Company”) was incorporated in 1996 with a focus on initiating and developing hotels within different market segment of the hotel/hospitality industry in Nigeria. It is a key player that has initiated and successfully completed numerous hotel developments throughout the entire hotel market value chain. The hotels developed are within the budget, economy, and luxury hotel market segment of the hospitality market.
The primary mission of Moorhouse Properties is to optimize the generation of revenues and profits whilst simultaneously maximizing the value of its properties. To execute this strategy, Moorhouse Properties also adds value by identifying key market locations suitable for developing the properties through intensive asset management and creative deal making. In addition, the Company uses a hands-on approach to managing the asset and understanding the investment environment. With its two-pronged approach, Moorhouse Properties is able to assume two separate but mutually beneficial roles as:
Development Manager and Project Promoter: Responsible for conceptualizing new opportunities and for initiating new development within a comprehensive strategy.
Asset Manager: Responsible for ensuring that the asset value is maintained and maximized to generate superior revenues and returns.
The company aims to raise funds in order to expand its portfolio of hotels and strengthen its competitive positioning in the West African hospitality market.
With almost 10 years of experience in the hospitality sector, the Company is striving to become the pre-eminent investor in premier hotels and properties in Nigeria’ s prime commercial destinations.
MPL expects to capitalize on the abounding activities within the hospitality sector and the continued growth of Nigeria’ s under serviced tourism industry. To this end, the Company aims to achieve a diversified portfolio of over 1000 rooms (“the Project or Project 1000”) in the next three years in different market segments and different regions within the country
The project entails the deployment of over 1000 hotel rooms nationwide, under the development and promotion of the Moorhouse Properties Limited. This will be achieved through the existing rooms (The Moorhouse MGallery Hotel – Lagos, Novotel Hotel – Port Harcourt, Ibis Lagos Airport Hotel – Lagos, Ibis Hotel –Portharcourt, Travelhouse Lekki Lagos , Travelhouse Festac – Lagos and Travelhouse Ibadan – Lagos, ) and the new rooms to be deployed (2 different locations of 70 rooms Travelhouse Budget Hotels , and a 140 room midscale economy Hotel).
The over 1000 rooms target is being achieved through the expansion of The Moorhouse MGallery Hotel to attain 90 rooms in total, Novotel Port Harcourt to attain 117 rooms in total. There is also be the deployment of 184 rooms in Ibis Lagos, 140 rooms in Ibis Portharcourt , 120 rooms mid scale hotel in Ibadan, 65 rooms each in Travelhouse Lekki – Lagos and Travelhouse Ibadan .Further brands of hotels will be expanded by the roll out of additional rooms summing 1000.
